Soil Health Card Scheme

Deadline: Ongoing

The Soil Health Card Scheme is a flagship program launched by the Government of India in February 2015. The scheme aims to issue soil health cards to farmers every two years to provide a basis for addressing soil health issues.

Under this scheme, soil samples are collected and tested in laboratories for various parameters including macro and micronutrients. Based on the test results, the Soil Health Card provides crop-wise recommendations of nutrients and fertilizers required for farms, making it possible for farmers to improve productivity by using appropriate inputs.
